Gustave Eiffel University is hosting the 13th édition of the french association of the environmental and resources economists (FAEREthematic workshop : Two days of scientific presentations in economics and debates on climate and environmental issues in cities.

▶️ The Workshop in a nutshell

Urbanization is one of the major facts of the 21st century: of the nine billion people on the planet by 2050, more than two-thirds will be urban [United Nations - 2018]. Cities are also both vectors of environmental degradations (70% of global greenhouse gas emissions comes from urban areas) and particularly vulnerable in the face of climate change and its many local repercussions. Ecological transitions in this context will consist in simultaneously acting to reduce their ecological footprint and improving their resilience.

The 13th FAERE Thematic Workshop will provide the opportunity to discuss these issues through the presentation of both empirical and theoretical papers in economics.

📑 On the agenda

  • four paper presentation sessions
  • a "multidisciplinary approach" session
  • two guest lectures with the participation of Klaus Eisenack (Humboldt-Universität) and Walid Oueslati (OECD)
  • a "round table" session (in french) on the issues and challenges of urban climate policies, introduced by Vincent Viguié (CIRED)
